PRP for hair takes advantage of the versatile healing properties of the
blood. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which is derived by taking a small
blood sample from the patient prior to treatment. The blood platelets contain
growth factors that can stimulate the hair follicles to produce natural hair
growth. For PRP hair restoration treatments, we use the Eclipse PRP® system.
This maximizes the amount of platelets we are able to collect from the blood,
while minimizing other blood cells that provide unwanted effects. PRP
techniques can also help increase the efficacy of other hair restoration

What is the PRP for Hair Treatment Like?
The first step of a PRP hair restoration treatment is collecting blood from the patient. Once the blood is collected, it is placed into a machine that separates the blood platelets from the other blood cells, producing PRP. The PRP will then be injected into various areas of the scalp. For this process, we use a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. Once the injections are performed, the treatment will be complete.
What is the Recovery Period Like Following a PRP Hair Restoration Treatment?
The recovery from a PRP hair restoration treatment is usually fairly brief, as the PRP stimulates healing in the skin. Patients can expect some soreness, sensitivity and redness in the treatment area for the first day or two following treatment. However, you will be able to perform all normal activities, including washing your hair, on the same day of treatment.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from a PRP Hair Restoration Treatment?
The results from your PRP hair restoration will become visible over the months following treatment. Patients can expect to see changes in their hair volume approximately three months after their initial treatment, with continued improvements for as long as six months.
