Patients can reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles with Xeomin® by relaxing the muscles that cause them. At Baldone Reina Dermatology, we offer Xeomin® and other injectable treatments to the residents of Covington, Mandeville, the Northshore and New Orleans, LA.
What is Xeomin®?
Xeomin® is an injectable treatment that diminishes the appearance of facial wrinkles by relaxing wrinkle-causing muscles in the face. The Xeomin® formula contains a purified form of botulinum toxin, which blocks the nerve signals that cause the treated muscles to contract. When Xeomin® is injected into the forehead muscles, wrinkles are reduced producing a more youthful, rested appearance. Since Xeomin® contains no added ingredients, it may be a suitable treatment for patients who are no longer achieving their desired results from Botox® or Dysport®. Xeomin® can be used for the following concerns:
- Frown lines
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead lines and wrinkles
How Much Does Xeomin® Cost?
The cost of Xeomin® ranges from $10-$15 per unit depending on the amount of product used and the areas treated. If you elect to receive Xeomin® at Baldone Reina Dermatology, you will first have a consultation with one of our board-certified dermatologists. During this consultation, we will assess your current condition and your treatment goals in order to determine the best approach for your Xeomin® treatment. Once these variables are considered, we will be able to provide you with the cost of treatment and any associated fees.
What is the Xeomin® Treatment Like?
Before your Xeomin® treatment, we will apply a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort that may occur during the injection process. Injections are the made in and around the desired treatment area. The number of injections required will depend on the area being treated as well as your desired results. A Xeomin® treatment takes less than 30 minutes to complete, making it a great option for patients with a busy schedule.
What is the Recovery Period Like Following Xeomin®?
After your Xeomin® treatment, you may experience swelling, bruising or sensitivity in the treatment area. These are common side effects of treatment, and typically fade within a day or two. Despite these minor side effects, you will be able to return to work and all other normal activities immediately following your appointment. There is no downtime or recovery period with Xeomin®.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Xeomin®?
Once the Xeomin® formula takes effect in the muscles, your results will become visible. This usually happens after about three or four days. The results from Xeomin® are clinically proven to last about three months, after which time many patients choose to have additional treatments in order to maintain their results.
